Monthly Letter | One Month

Dear Marielle Sophie,

You are one month old today! This month has gone by so fast. It seems like yesterday we were standing, excited and unsure, at the doors of the hospital getting ready to take our first steps into the world as a new family. We thought you were the most beautiful thing in the whole world, and still do.

One of our favorite things to do this month is to watch you sleep. You are sooo beautiful (and quiet) when you sleep. Even more fun is watching you smile! You just started smiling these last couple days. Mommy likes to wake you up in the morning by saying, «Hi pumpkin» in a silly high pitched voice, and you seem to like it. Pappa likes to simulate drumming with you. He moves your arms up and down and makes doosh-doosh noises with his mouth, and this makes Mommy laugh a lot.

You are growing so fast, it feels like you get heavier each time we pick you up. And we love you just the same even though your are losing the hair on the top of your head. Keep that up and we’ll have to trying giving you a comb-over.

We can’t count the number of times you make us smile in a day and we are so thankful to have you in our lives.
